If you have previously enabled the keychain function in Safari preferences to save site user names and passwords; when you have forgotten your password, and you look in Safari Autofill (user names and password) (edit) you will only see the site name and your user name, but not the password.
To find you password go to your application file click on "utilities" and click on "keychain access.app".
Select the site on the list and click on it to show your password. Click on the box that says "show password".
